Passobianco IGT Tenuta di Passopisciaro 2016
HK$267 per bottle
100% Chardonnay, from limestone soils, vinified without oak. Mid-golden colour, with a nose of ripe peach and zesty grapefruit, backed up by a creamy breadth. The palate begins ripe and effusive, but is reined back by a pithy citric twist and a chalkiness, which adds definition to the mid-palate. Fresh acidity ensures a long finish, which is precise and focused.
Passorosso Etna Rosso DOC Tenuta di Passopisciaro 2015
HK$350 per bottle
This is a bright fresh red, in all honesty a Pinot Noir substitute in terms of food and wine matching – ideal accompaniment to poultry and game birds.
Contrada Guardiola IGP Tenuta di Passopisciaro 2015
HK$500 per bottle
Contrada Guardiola is an ancient domain between 800 and 1,000 m (2,600 to 3,300 ft) above sea level, on the edge of the lava flow from Etna’s 1947 eruption. It produces a deep and complex wine with a rich taste of red fruit. “Bright dark red. Intensely aromatic nose of superripe red cherry, spices, minerals, balsamic vinegar and broom. Then clean, vibrant and tactile, with polished tannins providing noteworthy backbone on the long youthful, chewy finish.”

Contrada Sciaranuova IGP Tenuta di Passopisciaro 2015
HK$700 per bottle
Contrada Sciaranuova is located at 850 m (2,800 ft) above sea level on Mount Etna. In Sicilian, “sciara nuova” means “new lava flow.” The vines here are planted on relatively new lava flow from the 1600s that has turned into thick gravel. The wines produced from this site are bright, aromatic, and have a rich taste of fermented hay and a dusty herbal quality. “Delicate scents of Mediterranean brush, crushed herb, flint, and balsamic notes of menthol and eucalyptus slowly take shape in the glass. The structured palate shows impressive breeding and class, offering dried Marasca cherry, pomegranate, clove and star anise framed in fine-grained tannins.”
– Kerin O’Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, 94 points –
Franchetti IGT Tenuta di Passopisciaro 2014 (HK Only)
HK$900 per bottle
Jet plum and opaque, the colour announces a serious wine yet the nose is fresh and upbeat, much brighter than suggested by the wine’s appearance and texture, clinging to the glass. The purity is exemplary, so precise, with almost citric focus so that the enormity of the palate is once again a surprise.
